Milo and I went camping in the Okanagan for two nights last weekend.
It was really nice to get to see a bit more of this beautiful province which I’m lucky to call home.
On the road on Monday evening, going from Oliver to Keremeos, we passed next to a wildfire happening above the Okanagan Spotted Lakes.
It was really impressive to watch what the flames can do to a place. We stood with our cameras on the roadside, along with maybe twenty or so other cars, watching as firefighters took on the fire with helicopters, and airplanes.
I have always known that their work is important, but now that I have seen these people in action, I have a profound respect for them as individuals who are in fact, true heroes.
As far as I am aware, no one was injured, and their efforts saved a few nearby houses and horses.
Here are my photos of the event, and you can also view Milo’s photographs here.
